Tottenham Hotspur put their recent domestic struggles behind them to record an emphatic victory against Stoke City on Saturday.
A brace from Harry Kane, strikes from Heung-min Son and Christian Eriksen and an own-goal from Ryan Shawcross ensured Mauricio Pochettino’s side ran out comfortable winners, even if the Stoke defender snatched a late consolation for the visitors.
While the goal-scorers drew plenty of plaudits, Tottenham also had an unsung hero in the form of Mousa Dembele, who was back to his best in the centre of the park.
The Belgian international has been blighted by injury this season, yet on Saturday he showed what he can do when fit and firing, and Spurs will be hoping Dembele remains injury-free in the months ahead.
Tottenham need all their top players performing consistently in the months ahead, with plenty of silverware still to play for even if the Premier League may already be beyond them for another year.
