Tottenham Hotspur fans are growing bored of Mauricio Pochettino’s post-match defences it seems.
Tottenham Hotspur fans haven’t reacted well to Mauricio Pochettino’s post-match comments after losing to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
Pochettino’s side suffered a 1-0 defeat to the now-relegated Baggies after Jake Livermore pounced with a stoppage-time winner against his former club.
After the game, the Argentine manager said to Football London: “In football it’s not only about deserving to win, it’s to be aggressive in defending and aggressive with the right attitude when you go forward with the ball.
“It’s another way to score from the beginning.”
But it would appear as if quite a few Spurs fans are growing bored of the 46-year-old’s rationale after defeats, with this coming two weeks after Manchester United beat them in an FA Cup semi-final.
Pochettino is of course a very decent manager and one who has undoubtedly taken Spurs to the next level, but can he take them any further? He joined the North Londoners from Southampton four years ago and the closest he has come to a trophy was a League Cup final in 2015, where they lost to Chelsea.
The former Espanyol coach has also presided over a couple of Premier League title challenges, but those mean little unless Tottenham kick on and, well, they haven’t been.
