Some Tottenham Hotspur fans were very impressed with what they saw from the left-back before he sustained a nasty injury.

A number of Tottenham fans took to Twitter to express their slight disappointment that Spurs did not end up landing Luke Shaw this summer following his performance in England’s Nations League opener.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the move did not take place. And Shaw’s start to the campaign suggests that Spurs may have missed out. The left-back scored the winner in United’s season-opener against Leicester City and has put in some of his best performances since leaving Southampton.
His form earned the defender an England recall and he started ahead of Rose against Spain at Wembley. And while his night would end prematurely after a nasty collision saw Shaw stretchered off, there were some moments of real quality from the 23-year-old, including one of the best passes of the game.

Shaw dropped a delicious through ball into Marcus Rashford’s path for the clash’s opening goal. He may have to take some of the blame for Spain’s equaliser, but that assist was a moment of sheer brilliance.
And it certainly impressed some of the Spurs supporters who took to social media to suggest that not getting the swap deal done at the start of the window may have been a missed opportunity.
