It’s been a tough week for Tottenham Hotspur, having crashed out of the Champions League at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb.
Spurs were 2-0 up from the first leg, but managed to lose the second leg 3-0, crashing out of the competition at the last 16 stage.
Jose Mourinho needed a result against Aston Villa on Sunday to ease the pressure on him, and he got that with a 2-0 victory at Villa Park.
The win was good news enough, but then Spurs learned that Son Heung-min had been omitted from the South Korea international squad.
Tottenham saw Son pick up a hamstring injury against Arsenal last week, but it quickly emerged that the injury wasn’t quite as severe as first feared.
Some even thought he could play against Villa, though that didn’t happen, with his injury seemingly bad enough to keep him out of South Korea’s game against Japan on Thursday.

Now, that may be seen as bad news; that Son hasn’t recovered yet, that he could be out longer than Tottenham hope.
However, Tottenham fans feel that this is great news because Son now gets a rest over the international break, and can return to action fresher, ready for a final push towards the end of the season.
