Tottenham Hotspur lost 2-1 to the reigning Premier League champions on Sunday.
Tottenham Hotspur welcomed Kieran Trippier back into the starting line-up on Sunday, but the right-back was unable to help his side avoid defeat to current champions Chelsea.
Two goals from Marcos Alonso were enough to seal all three points for the visitors, with an own-goal from Michy Batshuayi briefly restoring parity late in the game.

Kyle Walker-Peters had started Tottenham’s first league game of the season and he impressed against Newcastle United. But against tougher opposition, and with Trippier available once more, it was the former Burnley man who got the nod this time round.
Unfortunately for the player, and for Tottenham as a whole, he looked out of sorts and was unable to keep Chelsea out when it mattered.
With Kyle Walker sold to Manchester City earlier this summer, Trippier is now Tottenham’s first-choice right-back, although with 10 days of the transfer market remaining that could still change.
The 26-year-old impressed last season, keeping Walker out of the starting line-up at the end of a fine campaign for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. However some Tottenham fans feel he is not good enough and a new signing is needed to avoid setbacks later in the year.
