Tottenham Hotspur’s squad is currently in the midst of an injury crisis and the latest development regarding one of their players has raised concerns among the club’s fans.

Mauricio Pochettino’s charges have done well so far in the current Premier League campaign, nine wins from 12 games putting them fourth in the table.

However, a relatively small squad that saw no additions in the summer transfer window is now finding itself becoming increasingly depleted as injuries take their toll.

Danny Rose is out with a groin injury, while Jan Vertonghen has a hamstring problem and Mousa Dembele is suffering from an ankle injury.

In addition, Eric Dier has missed matches with a thigh injury, while Vincent Janssen is not expected to be back until Christmas.

Kieran Trippier is the latest Spurs man to be sidelined after being forced off with a groin injury in the first half of Saturday’s 1-0 win at Crystal Palace.

The England international reported for duty at St. George’s Park on Monday but has now returned to his club, the news confirmed by a Football Association tweet.

Trippier will now miss Thursday’s game against the United States and the clash against Croatia in the Nations League on 18 November.

With Spurs not in action until 24 November, albeit against high-flying Chelsea, some Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to wish Trippier a speedy recovery:

Other fans, meanwhile, have expressed their anxiety at seeing yet another of their players out injured, and have even joked that the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli should leave the England camp to preserve their fitness:

Trippier has won 16 caps for England, scoring his one goal in the World Cup semi-final loss to Croatia. He was was also in the team which earned a memorable 3-2 Nations League victory over Spain in Seville last month.
