Tottenham Hotspur star’s poor season comes home to roost.

Kieran Trippier has been left out of the England squad for the UEFA Nations League finals, the FA has confirmed.
The Tottenham defender was one of England’s World Cup stars at Russia 2018, but his club season has been tough.
While Spurs have reached the Champions League final, at times this has been despite Trippier’s poor form.
His defending against Ajax and Manchester City drew criticism with Spurs conceding seven goals in the two away ties, even though they remarkably made it through.
Some of Trippier’s troubles may come down to tiredness from the World Cup, while loss of confidence also seems to be a factor.

He now faces a big task to turn his England career around, especially with Crystal Palace’s promising right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka also missing out, and expected to challenge next season and beyond.
Trippier still has one more game left this season, the biggest of his club career, the Champions League final.
Being dropped will not lift his confidence ahead of the final and Trippier has to respond in the right way.
Spurs fans are not convinced it will help…
