Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing the Benfica starlet.
According to a report from Portuguese media outlet Record, Tottenham have already made an approach to sign Benfica winger Jota, and some Spurs fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.
Spurs already have a wonderfully strong group of players, but Mauricio Pochettino will surely be looking to strengthen his ranks this summer, having not signed a single player since January 2018.
Tottenham are on the verge of achieving something very special, with a Champions League final against Liverpool on the horizon, but whatever happens in Madrid, they must invest this summer, if they are to challenge for the Premier League title next season.
And Jota could be just the ticket.
The Benfica ace, 20, racked up 10 goals and eight assists in 29 appearances in all competitions this season, and he would undoubtedly be a real asset for Spurs.
Jota has a €30 million (£26.3 million) release clause inserted into his current contract according to Record, and in today’s day and age, that would be seen as excellent value.
