The Dutchman has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur but his side lost 2-0 to Manchester United this week.

According to a recent report from the Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are tracking Ajax defender Joel Veltman, and Wednesday gave Spurs fans the opportunity to cast an eye over the right-back.
Veltman started the Europa League final against Manchester United, and unfortunately for the Netherlands international his side lost 2-0 courtesy of goals from Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Ajax’s ability on the ball and confidence to play out from the back was impressive. However, their lack of a Plan B on the night was alarming and Jose Mourinho’s side won by simply sticking to their game plan and picking their opponents off with two defining moments; the first involving a massive deflection and the second involving a wonderful piece of improvisation.
Veltman would seemingly only arrive at Tottenham if Kyle Walker moved on this summer, and with 166 Ajax appearances under his belt – in which time he has scored eight goals and provided 13 assists – he seems to fit the bill.

With his current contract expiring in just over 12 months, the 25-year-old could also be a potential bargain in another inflated transfer window, but time will tell in that regard.
