Tottenham Hotspur suffered a crippling defeat on Sunday afternoon as they were beaten 3-1 by Manchester United.

Spurs needed a win; Liverpool, Chelsea and West Ham United all won over the weekend, and Tottenham had to pick up all three points in order to keep their top four hopes alive.

At half time, Spurs were 1-0 up as Son Heung-min fired them in front, but it all turned sour in the second half.

Fred, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood all struck to give United a 3-1 win, leaving Tottenham’s top four hopes in tatters.

Jose Mourinho finds himself under huge pressure, and very few players turned in remotely decent performances against the Red Devils.

Defender Joe Rodon did at least show some heart in the Tottenham defence, with fans praising his performance.

Rodon faced the media after the game despite more senior players being involved in the game, and Tottenham fans were far from impressed.

Some believe that it’s ‘pathetic’ and a ‘shambles’ that more experienced players didn’t front up and face the media, instead sending Rodon out to talk.

Some even feel that it’s bordering on cowardice for senior players to let Rodon go out and speak, believing it ‘says it all’ about the current squad.
