The former Tottenham Hotspur player appears to have divided opinion.

Jamie O’Hara has divided Tottenham Hotspur fans with his comments about Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy.

Comments made by Pochettino after his side’s friendly win against Real Madrid – in which the Tottenham manager suggested that he should be given ‘a different job title’ – have caused many of a Spurs.persuasion to turn on Levy, their chairman.

But appearing as a guest on Talksport’s Drive show earlier, O’Hara, the former Tottenham midfielder, hit out at those who have done so – as well as Pochettino.

“If you look at Spurs over the years, let’s go back 10 years to when I was there, we were good, it was a good club to be at. But they weren’t what they are now,” said O’Hara.

“You can’t take away the fact that now, Tottenham are a top-four football club, they’re established, week-in week-out they’re performing at the highest level. You can’t say that’s not down to Levy and the infrastructure that he’s put in at the football club.

“It’s not just Pochettino that’s done this, you know. He built the training ground, Levy. He built the stadium. He’s got the players in. He’s done the contracts. He’s kept these players there.

“Pochettino’s done a fantastic job in terms of the squad, but for Spurs fans to say ‘get Levy out’, I think is the complete wrong message.”

Referring to last season’s Champions League final in particular, when Pochettino dropped Tottenham’s semi-final hero, Lucas Moura, O’Hara added: “I’m gonna be really, not horrible. But Poch does make mistakes tactically in big games.”

And the current player-assistant manager of Billericay Town continued: “I think Levy has done unbelievable things for Spurs football club, and I will disagree with any fan that says that they want Levy out.”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, several of a Tottenham persuasion are not best pleased with their former player…

@Mrjamieohara1 Jamie o’Hara: I’ll go on drive and defend Spurs!

Jamie O’Hara actually : talks more **** about Tottenham than even Durham! Well done mate some achievement. Didn’t realise you were a better tactician than Pochettino

@markio1992

@Mrjamieohara1 **** up o’hara poch has done all of this in spite of levy, where’s the all the money gone? In levy’s and his uncles back pocket

But there are plenty who back what O’Hara has said:

This is not the first time that Levy has faced criticism from Tottenham fans throughout his 18-and-a-half-year reign – the main one being his lack of investment in the playing squad.

Levy has however sanctioned the club-record signing of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon in this summer’s transfer window.

Tottenham fans – where do you stand on O’Hara’s comments?
