Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-min is enjoying a superb season, leading to discussions about what he would be worth in the transfer market.
Son scored against Leicester City on Sunday, meaning he has now hit 10 goals and four assists in his last 10 outings for Tottenham; a frankly staggering record.
The South Korean ace is now on 15 goals and six assists for the season, enjoying yet another outstanding campaign under Mauricio Pochettino.
Son is a fan favourite at Spurs for a host of reasons; predominantly his talent, but also his work rate and constantly upbeat persona, and he has stepped up with Harry Kane out.
Even after playing for South Korea at the World Cup, the Asian Games and the Asian Cup, Son just keeps on going, and now looks like a bargain.
Back in 2015, Spurs paid around £18million (Sky Sports) to sign Son from Bayer Leverkusen, and after a difficult first season, he has now become a key player.
Intriguingly, Arsenal legend Ian Wright spoke about Son this week, and told The Monday Night Club show on BBC Radio 5 Live on Monday evening (8:25pm, February 11, 2019) that he thinks Son is now worth around £60million to £70million.
Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to react, suggesting that Wright is completely wrong about Son, feeling that he is worth at least £100million whilst branding Wright’s valuation an insult.
Others noted that full backs go for around £50million to £60million these days so a top forward like Son should be worth much, much more, especially having only signed a new contract last week.
