Tottenham Hotspur got back to winning ways in their latest Premier League clash.
A number of Tottenham fans remain unconvinced about Hugo Lloris despite the Frenchman keeping a clean sheet during Spurs’ 1-0 victory over Cardiff City on Saturday.
Lloris is arguably coming under more pressure than he has ever had to deal with during his Tottenham career. His stint out of the team allowed Paulo Gazzaniga to make a big impression, and the Spurs captain’s performance against Barcelona included a couple of rash decisions and big mistakes.
Pochettino ignored any calls to leave Lloris out against the Bluebirds. But, while Spurs kept a clean sheet as Eric Dier’s goal handed them a narrow victory, there appears to be plenty of fans who are not entirely happy about Lloris’ form.
He made a couple of excellent saves to keep Cardiff at bay, but once again, his decision making nearly proved costly for the home side, who are now third in the Premier League.
With Gazzaniga performing so well during his spell in the team, there are some fans who are calling for a change between the sticks, seemingly fearing that Lloris’ mixed form is going to hurt Tottenham.
There were some suggestions that it is time to permanently replace Lloris or even consider selling the stopper as a handful of fans fear that he is no longer the stalwart that established himself as one of, if not, the best goalkeeper in the Premier League.
