The Tottenham Hotspur star has upset some fans this week.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is catching a bit of flak on Twitter.
Spurs fans have been criticising the Frenchman on social media for a lot of the season, but on those occasions it was over what he has done. This time it’s for what he has said.
“We are still involved in all competitions,” he told Football London, after Tottenham’s defeat by Manchester United on Sunday evening.
“The main thing is to finish in the top four, we said this from the beginning.”
Losing to the Red Devils is widely considered to have put paid to the North Londoners’ hopes of winning the Premier League title, having fallen nine points behind Liverpool.
But Mauricio Pochettino’s side were considered genuine contenders up until last week and some Tottenham fans aren’t buying Lloris’s claim that finishing in the top four was always the aim anyway.
Winning the Premier League might not have been the aim back in August, but it is a tad unambitious if the goal was to merely qualify for the Champions League.
That was Arsenal’s goal, having been out of the competition for two years. That was Everton’s goal after spending close to £200 million over the past 18 months. That wasn’t Spurs’ goal.
The real goal would have been to challenge for the title. They might not have spent a penny last summer, but they still have good enough players to suggest that a challenge is the minimum of what is required and, with Harry Kane out until March, that nine-point deficit could get even bigger over the coming weeks.
