Tottenham bounced back from their dreadful 3-1 defeat at Sheffield United by beating Everton 1-0 on Monday night.

Jose Mourinho was under huge pressure to get a result after losing at Bramall Lane, and Spurs did manage to grind out a win.

The goal came in the first half as Giovani Lo Celso’s effort was deflected into the net by Michael Keane, with the strike going down as an own goal.

Neither side were at their best, but Spurs managed to defend resiliently and keep a much-needed clean sheet after recent defensive issues.

Son Heung-min’s row with Hugo Lloris was probably the most exciting the game got, but there were some decent performances in the Spurs side too.

Harry Winks returned to the side in midfield having been on the bench against Sheffield United, and he turned in a strong display.

Fans took to Twitter to suggest that Tottenham are a better side with Winks in the team, believing he does so much dirty work.

Some believe that Winks ‘goes unnoticed’ until he’s taken out of the team, and praised him for a ‘spotless performance’ last night.
