Tottenham Hotspur continue to pursue Southampton ace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, but Jose Mourinho needs to find the funds for a deal.
The Dane is Mourinho’s top midfield target as things stand, with just a year left on his contract at Southampton.
Hojbjerg would provide some grit in the Tottenham midfield if he does arrive, but reports over the suggested that Spurs may offload Harry Winks to make a deal happen.
The Mirror claimed that Winks may be in danger of being sold if Hojbjerg arrives, with Tottenham looking for around £25million to £30million.
Just hours later, Winks turned in a superb performance in Tottenham’s 3-0 home win over Leicester City, reminding many of his quality.
It’s hard to see Tottenham ditching the 24-year-old, as he is a valuable homegrown player who has played an important role under Mourinho of late.

Mourinho would surely want to have Hojbjerg competing with Winks rather than sell a player who has Tottenham at heart, and Spurs fans just can’t see it happening.
Some believe that Winks is actually better than Hojbjerg or want to see them together should Mourinho land the Southampton man.
Others noted that Winks leaving would be heartbreaking, and thinks Mourinho should give him a key role next season rather than sell him.
