Tottenham Hotspur will be without Eric Dier until January at the earliest.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Eric Dier will miss the rest of the year.
Dier was not involved in Spurs’ 1-0 win over Burnley on Saturday and Tottenham released a statement on their official website revealing that the 24-year-old would not return to first-team duties until January after having his appendix removed.
Part of the statement read: “He will now undergo a period of recovery before commencing rehabilitation and it is expected he will return to training with the squad in January.”
Spurs are already missing fellow centre-midfielders Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama through injury, and here’s how fans fans of the North London club reacted to the latest casualty.
Dier’s absence might be marginally good news for Oliver Skipp, the 18-year-old who made his full Premier League debut at home to the Clarets this past weekend.
Skipp gave a very good account of himself in midfield and it’ll be interesting to see if he can really stake a claim in Dier’s absence.
He’s young and inexperienced, but if you’re good enough you’re old enough, as the adage goes, and time will tell whether he is rewarded with continued first XI places.
