Spurs booked their place in next season’s Champions League campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez posted on Twitter after starring in Spurs’ narrow 1-0 win over Newcastle United, a win that saw Spurs qualify for next season’s Champions League – and fans reacted with delight.
The 21-year-old has become an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season since moving to the club from Ajax last summer, forming an impressive partnership with Jan Vertonghen at the back.

The Colombia international is just one of four former Ajax stars at Spurs, which also include Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen. In his 39 appearances, Spurs have amassed a superb 17 clean sheets.
Sanchez posted on Twitter after Spurs confirmed their place in the top four and indeed the 2018-19 Champions League campaign, after another excellent rearguard display against The Toon.
Sanchez is quickly establishing himself as one of the best up-and-coming central defenders in the world, with 119 senior appearances to his name with Spurs, Ajax and Colombian side Atletico Nacional.
He is likely to be a Spurs player for many years to come with a contract in north London until the summer of 2023, and fans reacted to his Tweet with delight over their superstar defender.
However, one fan replied by Tweeting “have a chat” with reported target Matthijs de Ligt, who at 18 is quickly making a name for himself at Ajax where he played alongside Sanchez last term.
