Tottenham Hotspur won a hard fought contest against West Ham United.

Tottenham Hotspur looked like cruising to victory against West Ham United on Saturday lunch time, before a late Hammers fightback and a red card for Spurs’ summer signing Serge Aurier made it a shaky final few minutes for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Thankfully for Tottenham they held firm, despite late goals from Javier Hernandez and Cheikhou Kouyate making the final score 3-2 after earlier strikes from Harry Kane (2) and Christian Eriksen.

Tottenham’s defence took a battering as the hosts looked to get back into the game but new signing Davinson Sanchez was one of those to impress throughout.
The former Ajax player has settled quickly in his new surroundings, and he looks like being a fine addition to a Tottenham squad that already possessed one of the most impressive centre-back pairings in the country in the form of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld.

This was Sanchez’s third consecutive 90-minute performance in the league and his fifth outing in a Spurs shirt, and he proved his credentials despite shipping two goals for the first time since moving to North London.
Tottenham continue to impress away from home but they need to turn Wembley into some kind of fortress as they bid to improve on last season’s second-place finish.
