Tottenham Hotspur drew 2-2 in their last Premier League clash before the North London derby next weekend.

Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to express their hope that Davinson Sanchez is taken out of the firing line and given a rest for next weekend’s North London derby after Spurs’ latest game.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men continued their recent unbeaten run in an enthralling game at Anfield as they came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw away at Liverpool, with Harry Kane’s stoppage-time penalty earning the visitors a point that they arguably deserved.

It was not the most impressive performance at the back from Spurs however, as Mohamed Salah scored twice – including a stunning second goal that seemed set to win the contest before Tottenham were awarded their second spot-kick moments later, which, unlike Kane’s first attempt from 12 yards, he converted emphatically.

Davinson Sanchez was not on the pitch for the second goal but his performance still attracted a lot of attention on social media after the game, especially amongst the Spurs fans whose attention has partially switched to next weekend’s North London derby.

Arsenal go into the game off the back of an emphatic 5-1 win over Everton which saw Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang mark his debut with a goal.

And it appears that many Spurs fans are worried about whether starting Sanchez against Arsene Wenger’s men would be the right call as he clearly struggled against Liverpool and may benefit from being demoted down to the bench perhaps.
