Tottenham Hotspur brought in Joe Rodon on deadline day in October, bolstering Jose Mourinho’s centre back options.

Rodon started against Chelsea on Sunday, and is now fighting with Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez for playing time.

Yet with Sanchez seemingly out of favour, Jose Mourinho may be in the market for another centre back – and specifically a left-footed one.

Spurs lost Jan Vertonghen over the summer, and a move to bring in a left-footed centre back would make some sense as a natural replacement.

90Min now report that Spurs are interested in signing Dan-Axel Zagadou from Borussia Dortmund, who would fit the bill.

The Frenchman is a huge presence at 6ft 5in tall, but also left footed and capable of playing out from the back.

Tottenham have allegedly been tracking Zagadou throughout the year, and they rate him very highly. With his contract heading towards its final 18 months, Spurs may sense an opportunity.

Fans have been taking to Twitter to react to Tottenham’s interest in the 21-year-old, and some believe that he is deal given his huge frame and his ability on his left – but others would prefer Monaco’s Benoit Badiashile or Feyenoord’s Marcos Senesi.

Others don’t want Zagadou, believing that his injury history is a major concern whilst remembering that they weren’t impressed when he faced Tottenham in 2019.
