Mousa Dembele’s agent has been forthright over the midfielder’s future at Tottenham.

Mousa Dembele’s agent has told Belgian outlet Voetball Nieuws that his client will not sign a new Tottenham Hotspur contract until after the World Cup – but Spurs fans want him gone anyway.
The 30-year-old is set to enter the final year of his Spurs contract, which expires on June 30 next year, unless he signes a new deal with Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
However, the likelihood of Belgium international Dembele being offered a new deal seem slim, with Spurs eyeing a number of midfield targets who could become the former Fulham star’s successor in north London.

Dembele’s agent, Tom De Mul, said: “Mousa has another one year contract with Tottenham, he has played a fantastic season and there is a lot going on around him, there is a lot of interest inside and outside of Europe.
“We are waiting for the World Cup and I hope he plays in Russia, because he deserves that after such a peak season. For the moment Mousa will not sign.”
Dembele has enjoyed an excellent season on the whole with Spurs, including excellent performances against Arsenal and Manchester United, but his form died off towards the end of the campaign.

It remains to be seen whether Dembele will be offered a new deal at Spurs, with Pochettino renowned for placing his faith in younger players.
Spurs fans reacted to De Mul’s comments, with the majority urging Spurs to offload the powerhouse midfielder this summer. One fan Tweeted “get rid”.
