Tottenham Hotspur are in action tonight, travelling to Anfield to take on Liverpool in a top of the table clash.

Chelsea and Manchester City failing to win last night has only added importance to this game, and Jose Mourinho will be desperate for a big victory.

One player who will be hoping for a better Anfield experience is Serge Aurier, as he struggled away at Liverpool last season and even gave away a penalty in a 2-1 defeat.

The 27-year-old has managed to establish himself as Mourinho’s first-choice right back, despite the signing of Matt Doherty over the summer.

There has even been talk of Aurier landing a new contract at Tottenham, given that his current deal expires in the summer of 2022.

That’s some turnaround for Aurier, whose Tottenham career looked to be in real danger in the summer of 2019, and fans now seem to love him.

On Tuesday night, Tottenham tweeted out a clip of Aurier and asked for captions, with many calling for Spurs to announce a new contract for the Ivorian.

Some admitted they are ‘on their knees’ wanting Aurier to sign a new contract, urging the club to get a deal done now as he deserves to stay at the club.
