Tottenham Hotspur suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season on Sunday despite taking the lead.

Several Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to criticise Christian Eriksen’s display after the playmaker struggled to make an impact during Spurs’ defeat to Watford on Sunday.
It was a frustrating afternoon for Mauricio Pochettino’s men who would have been hoping to go into the international break having continued their flawless start to the new campaign.
And, while they were short of their best for much of the contest, their quest for four wins out of four appeared to be going well as an own goal gave the visitors the lead at Vicarage Road.
But Watford would score twice in the latter stages of the contest to steal the points away. And that has left a number of Spurs players coming in for criticism on social media after the loss.

Eriksen has not managed to find his best form so far this season. One assist and no goals in four games is not the standard he has previously set, and some now believe after his performance against the Hornets that he should perhaps be dropped from Spurs’ side once the campaign restarts following the international break.
The Tottenham fans slated the midfielder’s work-rate on Twitter and believe that he is looking well short of his best at the start of this year.

Here is what some of the supporters made of Eriksen’s display in Spurs’ defeat…
