Christian Eriksen struggled as Tottenham Hotspur suffered a disappointing last-gasp defeat.
Several Spurs fans have suggested that Christian Eriksen has had his head turned after the playmaker put in a lacklustre performance in Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men suffered an agonising defeat as Toby Alderweireld’s late own goal handed the Reds a massive boost in the Premier League title race, especially as Spurs had been the better team in the second-half at Anfield.
Tottenham’s goal in the loss came after the break when Lucas Moura finished off a chance after the ball was sent across the box by Eriksen. The assist was actually the Dane’s 10th of the season in the Premier League, but that has not stopped the fans from being incredibly critical of the 27-year-old’s performance.
The Daily Mirror reported at the weekend that Spurs want £130 million for Eriksen this summer, with Real Madrid interested in bringing the midfielder to the Bernabeu.
And some supporters are convinced that Eriksen is keen to leave Tottenham as he struggles to reach the level he was previously at. While he may now be in double figures for league assists this term, he had been one away from reaching that mark since the win against Leicester City in early February.
And after an underwhelming performance on Sunday, plenty believe that he now needs to be dropped from the side as he does not appear to be giving his all to the team right now.
