Christian Eriksen’s future at Tottenham Hotspur is in doubt.

Christian Eriksen gave an interview about Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium on Tuesday.

Tottenham play their long-awaited first game at the new White Hart Lane next month when Crystal Palace visit the 62,062-seater venue.

Eriksen told The Mirror that it will be great for Spurs to finally be ‘home’.

He said: “It will be good for the fans, and it will be great to come home to White Hart Lane – and to a place that feels like our real home ground.

“We have been waiting for a while for the stadium after all, so it will be great to get ‘home’ to the stadium that will be our home for the many years.”

The Denmark international’s long-term future at Tottenham is in doubt, with Eriksen only contracted until 2020.

If the North Londoners don’t sell this summer or sign him up to a new deal, he could leave for free in 15 months.

But some Tottenham fans on Twitter believe that his recent comments about the stadium indicate that he might want to stay at the club.

What a massive boost it would be if Tottenham could keep the Dane.

He is enduring a bit of difficult form lately, but he’s still a massive player for Mauricio Pochettino and his extension would mean a whole lot more than Toby Alderweireld’s, if he were to also commit.

Eriksen is a younger and harder-to-replace player than the Belgian centre-back, but the longer it goes without an extension, the more likely he is to leave.
