Tottenham Hotspur were linked with a move for Benjamin Pavard recently, and the fans were impressed by his performance for his country.

Tottenham fans have been commenting on Twitter after Benjamin Pavard’s display during France’s World Cup clash with Argentina that saw Didier Deschamps’ men book their place in the quarter-final in Russia.
The French set up a mouthwatering tie with Jorge Sampaoli’s side after winning their group, and it was a masterclass from Kylian Mbappe that helped the 1998 winners through to the next round with a dramatic 4-3 victory.

While Mbappe rightfully stole many of the headlines, Pavard’s display caught the eye of many Spurs fans, particularly after a moment of sheer brilliance in the second-half to initially equalise after Argentina came from a goal down to take a 2-1 lead shortly after the break.
The 22-year-old scored a wonderful volley from outside the box that rose deliciously into the top corner, and that helped convince a number of Tottenham fans that Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino must now capitalise on their reported interest.

German outlet Bild reported in March that Spurs had scouted the centre-back, who has featured on the right for his country this summer, and based on their reaction to his display against Argentina, it would appear that the Tottenham fans would largely be behind a move for the Stuttgart ace this summer.
France will meet Uruguay next week for a place in the semi-final, where it could potentially be Brazil or Belgium standing between Deschamps’ men and a spot in the final should they knock out another South American side.
But for now, here is what some of the Tottenham fans made of Pavard’s display against Argentina…
