Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a deadline day move for the Portuguese midfielder.

According to the Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are battling West Ham United in an attempt to sign Andre Gomes before this evening’s transfer deadline.
The Portuguese international currently plays for Barcelona and a loan deal is being mooted, with the 24-year-old struggling for game time at the Nou Camp.

Gomes has been in and out of the starting XI since he swapped Valencia for a spell at the Catalan giants and both Tottenham and West Ham could offer him the starts he craves ahead of next summer’s World Cup in Russia.
Tottenham have had a tricky transfer window to date, waiting to bring in Davinson Sanchez and Paulo Gazzaniga on late deals and still searching for more new recruits with less than a day remaining.

With a new striker, an additional winger and another creative midfielder on many Tottenham fans’ wishlists, they will be hoping their chairman Daniel Levy pulls a few rabbits out of his proverbial hat in the coming hours.
Gomes would be an interesting addition, giving Tottenham more strength in depth in the centre of the park as they bid to mount a title challenge while also reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League.
