Tottenham drew 1-1 with Brighton on Tuesday night.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld returned to play 90 minutes of Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw against Brighton, and fans have urged Mauricio Pochettino to start him against Manchester United on Saturday.
The 29-year-old made his first appearance in the league since October for Spurs, after being ostracised by Pochettino over a disagreement in regards to his contractual situation in north London.
He has just a year remaining on his current deal – worth £75,000 a week according to the Daily Star – though it looks unlikely that he will put pen to paper on a new contract and it may seem him leave in the summer. However, he stated after the match that he was “happy” to return.

“It was difficult, they defended very well. We tried to break them down and I think we deserved to win. I’m happy I could help the team and I’m very pleased with the 90 minutes,” Alderweireld said.
The Belgium international was first ousted by Pochettino after suffering a long-term hamstring injury against Real Madrid in the Champions League, but has since recovered only for the Spurs manager to continue to overlook him.
But Spurs fans reacted to his comments on Twitter, pleading with the Argentine manager to start him against Manchester United on Saturday evening in the semi-final of the FA Cup.
Most fans took to Twitter to urge Pochettino to start him against Jose Mourinho’s side, while looked to convince Spurs to offer Alderweireld a deal that the former Atletico Madrid defender would deem acceptable.
