Watford’s Troy Deeney shoots
Speculation has mounted from The Sun that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in bringing Watford striker Troy Deeney to White Hart Lane this summer.
The 27-year-old managed a 38-game Premier League campaign this past season, netting 13 times to help the Hornets preserve their top-flight status in surprisingly easy fashion after winning the promotion the previous year.
The Sun says that manager Mauricio Pochettino has identified the burly forward as the ideal candidate to cover red-hot Harry Kane next term in a report that was met with largely negative reaction from Tottenham fans.

Spurs were in the Premier League title race for so long last season and there is a sense that they are on the brink of becoming a very big club, meaning that links to players like Deeney may be slightly underwhelming.

Should the move materialise, it may be a sign that Deeney is not joining to further his career. Kane started all 38 Premier League games last term and won the Golden Boot with 25 goals.
Deeney, of course, has his uses, the but the truth is that he will most probably spend large portions of next season on the bench.
