Tottenham fans hope their club moves for Timo Werner this summer.
Timo Werner fired Germany into the Confederations Cup semi-finals with a brace against Cameroon in a 3-1 win.
Werner, 21, is now establishing himself as the striker Germany have been lacking for years, at a crucial time ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
Last season he netted 21 goals in 31 Bundesliga matches, earning himself international recognition.
His form has seen him linked to Premier League clubs, but he has been on the radar of Tottenham for a couple of years with The Mirror reporting in 2015 they were trying to sign him.
Werner was playing for Stuttgart at the time and went on to sign with Red Bull Leipzig.
His display yesterday showed what a big miss he was for Spurs, and how he would be ideal for them now. Watching supporters were certainly impressed.
Red Bull Leipzig however do not need to sell, and have just qualified for next season’s Champions League themselves, meaning any deal for the forward would be tricky.
