Tottenham Hotspur are through to the next round of Europa League qualifiers after beating KF Shkendija 3-1 this evening.

Spurs headed to North Macedonia after scraping past Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the last round of the competition, and were looking for a less stressful evening this time.

They at least took an early lead through Erik Lamela, but Spurs were left to sweat when Valmir Naflu fired a shock equaliser for the hosts.

Son Heung-min put Spurs back in front with 20 minutes to play, and substitute Harry Kane came off the bench to add a third.

Tottenham will now meet Haccabi Haifa next Thursday for a spot in the group stage, and Jose Mourinho should be pleased with the display of Tanguy Ndombele.

The Frenchman was given another start having played against Southampton on Sunday, and managed 90 minutes this time as he looks to build his fitness.

Ndombele was all-action in midfield, and fans took to Twitter to praise him for being more like the player Tottenham bought from Lyon last summer.

Ndombele was praised for looking ‘really sharp’ and ‘quietly excellent’, believing that he is exactly what Spurs need as he starts to show his best form.
