Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Jan Vertonghen will be out until December, and the Spurs fans are hugely disappointed.

A number of Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment and frustration after Tottenham confirmed on their official website that Jan Vertonghen is not expected to return to full training until December.
Vertonghen has been out since September when he sustained a hamstring injury in Spurs’ victory over Huddersfield. There have been reports that he was expected to be out for a lengthy period, and now the club have sought to provide some clarity on the situation.
The news is a big blow for Mauricio Pochettino. Vertonghen is seemingly going to be missing for the rest of Spurs’ Champions League group-stage campaign, while he will miss at least 17 games if he does not make his return until the new year.

Spurs have kept clean sheets in their last two Premier League games, but it is still a big loss not to have Vertonghen available for a lengthy period given the quality and leadership that he brings to defensive unit.
Unsurprisingly, the news has gone down extremely poorly amongst the Spurs fans. Some are worried that the statement hints that Vertonghen will not feature again in 2018, while others have expressed their frustration at the lengthy injury list that Tottenham have already had to contend with this season.

Here is the best of the reaction to Spurs’ update on Vertonghen…
