Serge Aurier impressed as Tottenham Hotspur put one foot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Several Spurs fans have suggested on Twitter that Serge Aurier has put an end to the debate regarding who the best right-back in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad is with his superb performance during their Champions League victory against Borussia Dortmund.
Spurs have clearly put one foot in the last eight of the competition as goals from Son Heung-min, Jan Vertonghen and Fernando Llorente helped the Premier League side to a brilliant 3-0 win ahead of the second-leg.
It was a night where it was difficult to find a single fault with Tottenham’s performance, with almost every player in Pochettino’s side stepping up on what many expected to be a very tough tie with the Bundesliga leaders.
Aurier was clearly one of those who produced the kind of performance that some of the supporters doubted he would contribute. The right-back has come in for a lot of criticism during his time with Spurs, but was excellent on Wednesday.

It was his sensational cross that allowed Vertonghen to find the back of the net with a brilliantly-taken volley during the latter stages of the victory.
And there are a number of supporters on social media who feel that Aurier deserves huge credit for the way that he performed against Dortmund – with one fan even suggesting that his display has potentially pushed Kieran Trippier towards the Spurs exit ahead of the summer.
