Real Madrid reportedly want Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to Mauricio Pochettino’s comments linking him with Real Madrid.
According to Sky Sports, Spanish and European giants Madrid are interested in appointing Pochettino as their new head coach.
Los Blancos are looking for a new manager following the departure of Zinedine Zidane, who left the Santiago Bernabeu just days after leading the Spanish powerhouse to their third successive Champions League triumph.
The Guardian quotes Pochettino as saying: “I’m very happy at Tottenham. It would be disrespectful to Daniel [ for me to force a move. I’ve just renewed with Tottenham and I am happy.”
“When Real Madrid call you, you have to listen to them,” added Pochettino. “Although in this case it doesn’t depend on me.
“I have just signed a long contract with Tottenham and I am very happy here. I am happy at Tottenham because they let me work and we are growing together.”
Pochettino is one of the best managers in the world, and Madrid’s (reported) interest in him is not surprising at all.
The way the former Southampton boss has transformed Tottenham since 2014 has been remarkable.
However, Pochettino would not get the kind of time at Madrid, who demand trophies and titles every single season.
Spurs have finished in the top four of the Premier League for the past three seasons and have become regulars in the Champions League.
