Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Phil Jones as he heads into the final months of his contract.

A number of Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the reports emerging from The Sun over the weekend which have suggested that Spurs are monitoring Phil Jones’ situation.
Jones is out of contract at Manchester United at the end of the season. The Sun reports that United plan to trigger a 12-month extension within his deal while they consider their options.
The report adds that Spurs and Arsenal are both interested in Jones, who has made just one Premier League appearance this season which came in the 3-0 defeat to Mauricio Pochettino’s side back in August.
Understandably therefore, there are not many Tottenham fans who seem to have any desire to see Jones – who earns £50,000-a-week at Old Trafford, according to Spotrac – arrive at the club anytime soon.

Jones looked destined to become one of the country’s best defenders when he was coming through at Blackburn and during the early stages of his Manchester United career. But he has struggled to kick on since those days.
The 26-year-old has not made more than 26 appearances in all competitions in a season since 2013/14, with injury proving to be a frustratingly prominent aspect of his career.

And most of the Spurs fans on social media appear to be desperate to see Pochettino quickly switch his focus away from Jones as they do not believe that he would be a worthwhile signing – even if his contract situation lowers his asking price.
Here is what some of the Tottenham supporters make of the reports…
