Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly expected to make a £40 million bid for Nathan Ake this summer.

A number of Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun over the weekend which suggested that Spurs could make a £40 million bid for Nathan Ake this summer as speculation continues to surround Toby Alderweireld.
Spurs fans are hoping for a big summer as they await the club’s first first-team signing since the 2018 January transfer window. But it appears that Mauricio Pochettino’s task is not going to be easy, with The Sun linking both Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen with potential moves away.
And should the Belgian leave, it appears that Ake could be the man Tottenham want to come in. The Sun suggests that Bournemouth are bracing themselves for a £40 million bid from Spurs for the Dutchman.
Ake has been hugely impressive during his time with the Cherries. Nevertheless, it appears that many Tottenham supporters are not convinced that he is the right player for Pochettino to target.

There is some support for a move for Ake. The 24-year-old has the potential to improve further in the coming years, and some believe that he could be an exciting addition with his ability to drive out from the back and make an impact in the final third – he scored four Premier League goals this past season.
However, most on social media seem to believe that Ake would be an underwhelming signing. And with many assuming that Spurs are not going to quite keep up with the biggest spenders in the top flight this summer, plenty do not believe that £40 million of their budget should go on the former Chelsea ace.
