Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to Nabil Bentaleb’s performance for Schalke on Friday evening.
Bentaleb, who joined German club Schalke from Premier League outfit Tottenham in the summer transfer window, featured in the Bundesliga game against Bayern Munich at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen.
The Algeria international midfielder started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as Bayern won 2-0.
The 21-year-old had a pass accuracy of 73%, attempted one dribble, won 50% of his headers, and made one interception and one clearance, according to Squawka.com.
Bentaleb tried to dictate the tempo from deep, and although he was not exactly great against Bayern, the Schalke midfielder gave a good account of himself and was strong defensively.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen on Friday evening, hosts Schalke had just 31% of the possession, took nine shots of which only two were on target, and earned two corners, according to ESPN.
