Tottenham Hotspur opened their new stadium with a 2-0 victory in the Premier League, with Moussa Sissoko receiving a lot of the plaudits.

A number of Tottenham fans took to Twitter after the club’s 2-0 victory on Wednesday, and while most were, understandably, talking about the magnificent new stadium, plenty were also lauding the performance of Moussa Sissoko.
Sissoko may have felt that he had something to prove heading into the midweek clash with Crystal Palace. He missed a glorious chance when the scores were level at Liverpool at the weekend, and that moment proved costly.
The Frenchman has been outstanding for much of this season, and many Spurs supporters felt that he rediscovered that form against the Eagles, as he produced a brilliant display in the middle of the park on what could have been a tough night for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
The 29-year-old broke up Palace’s play superbly. He seemed to be intercepting everything that came near him, and his energy was remarkable as he did not stop running during the entire game.

And while Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen will take many of the headlines for scoring the goals that will go down in history, Sissoko has been the one that many on social media have named as the man of the match.
Once again, fans are lauding the midfielder’s transformation this season and clearly feel that he is as important to Spurs’ system as almost any other player on the pitch when he plays as well as he did against Palace.

Here is what some of the fans were saying about Sissoko’s performance…
