Tottenham fans on Twitter are in dreamland after Manchester United confirmed that they have appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their permanent manager.

The Premier League giants confirmed on their official Twitter account on Thursday morning that their former striker has signed a three-year deal at the club.

The news coming out of Old Trafford is a relief to Spurs supporters because it means that their manager Mauricio Pochettino won’t be going anywhere anytime soon because he was initially heavily backed for the post.

In December, The Telegraph claimed that United were willing to pay a world-record fee for the highly-rated coach, but Solskjaer, who was initially brought in on a temporary basis, has impressed one and all and has now earned the full-time gig himself.

As would be expected, there was pure joy and elation from the Tottenham fans at the Solskjaer news, with one fan claiming that ‘Poch is never leaving’.

Other supporters simply hit out at previous reports linking Pochettino to the job as they were ‘loving’ United’s decision to appoint their former treble-winning player.

Here is a selection of Tottenham fans reacting on Twitter to Solskjaer’s appointment:

There have been a number of impressive performances and results from United since Solskjaer walked through the doors of Old Trafford.

One of them was beating Spurs at Wembley in January and arguably the standout was knocking Paris Saint-Germain out of the Champions League in dramatic fashion.
