Bennetts scored as Tottenham Hotspur’s youngsters progressed to the quarter finals.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Under 19s are through to the quarter finals of the UEFA Youth League after overcoming AS Monaco on penalties on Wednesday afternoon.

Nabil Alioui fired through a sea of bodies to give the visitors a half time lead at Broadhall Way, before Keanan Bennetts’ solo strike drew Tottenham level shortly after the restart.

With no winner in normal time, the game went straight to a shoot out. And it was Tottenham who held their nerve, with Kazaiah Sterling, Paris Maghoma and Oliver Skipp all successful from the spot.

Things had started off badly for Scott Parker’s team, after Samuel Shashoua hit the post and Alioui scored via the hand of Brandon Austin.

Austin did, however, deny the principality side’s third penalty kick, with their second having cannoned back off the crossbar.

Nevertheless, it is Bennetts’ contribution which is being most talked about on Twitter.
