Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing themselves for Christian Eriksen’s potential exit by targeting James Maddison.

Several Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Mirror over the weekend which suggested that Tottenham have included James Maddison on their list of potential targets should Christian Eriksen leave.
There appears to be a question mark lingering over Eriksen’s future with Spurs. The Daily Mirror reported that the Dane has so far refused to sign a new deal with the club and Manchester United are eyeing a move as he edges towards the final 12 months of his contract.
The Mirror adds that Tottenham are starting to make plans in case they lose Eriksen, and that includes drawing up a list of potential targets who could be brought in if the playmaker leaves.
And one of those players is reportedly Leicester star Maddison, who has enjoyed an outstanding campaign after joining from Norwich City in the summer.

The 22-year-old has scored seven goals and contributed six assists for the Foxes in the Premier League. He is clearly a player with enormous potential, but the reports have divided fans.
Some are adamant that he is not good enough to be Eriksen’s replacement if he leaves. However, others have argued that replacing Eriksen is an impossible task anyway and Maddison could develop into a phenomenal player in the coming years if he gets the chance to work under Mauricio Pochettino.

Here is how some of the supporters reacted to the reports…
