Ex-Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes endured a nightmare day with his Watford team in the FA Cup final.
Tottenham fans on Twitter were not surprised by how Heurelho Gomes performed during Watford’s 6-0 FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
The former Spurs goalkeeper was left helpless as Pep Guardiola’s City ran riot at Wembley to secure their third domestic trophy of the season.
Whilst Gomes may be criticised for the manner in which he came out for crosses, at times, he couldn’t do much about the City train that added yet another trophy to their cabinet.
Raheem Sterling netted a brace, along with Gabriel Jesus, whilst Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva also got on the score sheet for the forward-thinking side.
In the Premier League, Ben Foster has been Watford’s main man between the sticks and he has produced the goods on a regular basis for the club.
But in the FA Cup, Hornets manager Javi Gracia has selected Gomes and despite it being the final, he stuck with him for the big occasion at Wembley, which ended in a nightmare for the Watford fans.
