Tottenham fans have been taking to Twitter to heap praise upon Harry Winks after his brilliant performance in Spurs’ sensational 3-1 win over Real Madrid at Wembley.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men booked their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League as they enjoyed a famous night in their recent history, beating Los Blancos in emphatic fashion at a ground they are supposedly are incapable of winning at – talk of a Wembley hoodoo is surely now dead.
There were a number of huge performances from Tottenham’s players against the La Liga giants, and one of the most notable, and certainly most impressive, came from Winks, who continues to thrive with almost every challenge that is put in front of him.
It was his brilliant pass that led to the first goal as he played the ball to Kieran Trippier that allowed the right-back to play in Dele Alli to break the deadlock during the first-half.
And it is fair to say that Winks, alongside the likes of Mousa Dembele, Christian Eriksen and Eric Dier, helped dominate the battle in the middle throughout the game that proved so influential in inspiring Tottenham to the win.
And the Spurs fans have been heaping praise upon the academy graduate on social media in the wake of the hugely impressive victory.
