Ward featured in Ipswich’s game against Barnsley at home in the Championship.
The 21-year-old winger did not start the match at Portman Road, but he came on as a substitute at half time.
The youngster had a game to remember, as he scored a hat-trick to guide Ipswich to a stunning 4-2 victory.
The former Tottenham prospect found the net in the 46th, 61st and 84th minute of the encounter.
Grant Ward in action for Coventry City
Ward joined Ipswich from Tottenham on a three-year deal with the option of a further 12 months earlier this month, as announced the Championship club’s official website.
The youngster failed to make a single appearance in the Premier League during his time at Tottenham.
The 21-year-old had loan spells at the Chicago Fire, Coventry City and Rotherham United while he was on the books of Spurs.
