A number of Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that the club confirmed on their official website that George Marsh has signed a new contract with Spurs.

Marsh’s future had a question mark lingering over it with his previous deal expiring in the coming weeks. But the 20-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract that is set to run until 2021, according to the club’s official website.

The midfielder made his senior debut this past season, coming on for the final 25 minutes of Tottenham’s 7-0 win against Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup in January. But he did not play again for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

And that perhaps explains why many of the fans on social media are not exactly going over the top in their reaction to the announcement. Some, admittedly, are pleased to see Marsh extend his contract.

But it appears that the fans are already growing impatient this summer, and want the club to start announcing new signings. It is of course, no secret that Tottenham have gone a long time without making an addition to their first-team squad.

And the supporters have suggested that they want announcements concerning new signings rather than news about a new contract for a player they are not even sure will make the grade with Pochettino’s side.
