Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton drew 2-2 on Saturday but what did Spurs fans think of Federico Fazio’s contribution?
Saturday saw the return of Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino to his former club Southampton.
The match ended 2-2, with a Graziano Pelle brace cancelled out by goals from Tottenham’s Erik Lamela and Nacer Chadli, but it was another Spurs player whose performance generated plenty of discussion in the form of Federico Fazio.
The Argentine centre-back has divided opinion since he arrived at White Hart Lane last summer.
Some of his performances and individual statistics have been good, and after a shaky start he looked like developing a fine partnership with fellow defender Jan Vertonghen.
But more recently Eric Dier has partnered the Belgian international in the heart of Tottenham’s defence, leaving Fazio to wait patiently for another chance.
That came against Aston Villa earlier this month and Fazio has since started matches against Newcastle United and now Southampton.
But it is fair to say the 28-year-old did not endear himself to the Tottenham faithful with a poor performance at St Mary’s.
After the game we took to Twitter to see what Tottenham fans thought of Fazio’s latest contribution and you can read a selection of what we found below:
