Erik Lamela produced another outstanding performance to help Tottenham Hotspur to a big win over Stoke City.
The Argentine created four chances, in the process laying on an assist for Harry Kane, while being typically dogged in his battling when not in possession.
Lamela is in his third season at Tottenham, and has been a key player in Mauricio Pochettino’s title chasing side all season, improving with every game and keeping summer signing Heung-Min Son out of the team.
He even came through a typically robust Charlie Adam challenge late in the second half, unfazed by the Scotsman’s tackle, for which he received a booking.
In his last match he produced a sublime strike to put Spurs 3-0 up against Manchester United, and this was a case of finishing where he left off, full of confidence and willing to get stuck in.
After ups and downs after the past three seasons, he seems to have well and truly won over the Tottenham support with his recent displays, given a standing ovation by away fans when he was substituted with one minute to go.
