Tottenham Hotspur will be hugely disappointed after they were beaten and left 21 points off the Premier League summit.

Tottenham fans have been left livid on social media after watching Eric Dier’s performance in their 4-1 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday that now leaves Mauricio Pochettino’s men 21 points off the league leaders.
The game may have only been put to bed when Kevin De Bruyne doubled City’s lead in the 70th minute, but in truth, it appeared that there was only ever going to be one winner with Spurs second best for most of the contest.
Tottenham’s only goal came in stoppage-time at the end of the second-half when Christian Eriksen made the score 4-1 – and the loss will undoubtedly have left Pochettino with plenty to ponder ahead of what promises to be a tricky trip to Burnley next weekend.
Amongst the concerns for the Tottenham manager will be Dier’s form. The Englishman was extremely poor at the heart of the defence and a number of the Spurs fans have urged the club to make a change for the trip to Turf Moor.
For a section of the Tottenham fanbase, the defeat to City should spell the end of the idea that Dier should be considered as a centre-back option by Pochettino – especially as Juan Foyth was an unused substitute for the clash.
And some fans appear to believe that taking Dier out of the team for a short period may be beneficial for his own form as Spurs look to get their domestic form back on track after a major setback.
