The Tottenham Hotspur man has been linked with a switch to Italy….and Spurs fans see the funny side.
Blasting News reported on Wednesday that Eric Dier is a target of Napoli in January.
The Italian publication claimed that the Serie A club are interested in bringing the 22-year-old to Naples on loan, with a view to a £10.25 million permanent deal.
Dier has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most impressive midfielders over the past 18 months or so and Tottenham fans were unequivocal in their assertion that this rumour has little substance behind it.

The England international has perhaps struggled to reach the standard he set last season, but that does absolutely not mean that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino should offload him.
Not only have a number of Tottenham boys failed to kick on from last season, with his mate Dele Alli being another, but Victor Wanyama’s superb form has undoubtedly contributed to Dier’s reduced prominence.

Plus, the Lilywhites, who visit Southampton tonight, don’t exactly need to sell him – and let’s be honest, £10 million is a ridiculous price for such a big player.
Tottenham are 13 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea, and failure to beat the Saints this evening would make it very difficult to catch their London rivals.
It seems, at the moment, that a top-four finish is more realistic for the North Londoners, with Pochettino’s side four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal.
